Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
This policy is part of the runmygig Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses runmygig: producers, co-hosts, performers, crew, vendors, volunteers and guests. Most of it is about producers, because producers decide who gets added to a Gig and what gets sent.
Content you may not post
- Anything unlawful, or that promotes something unlawful.
- Content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark or other rights. See our Copyright Policy.
- Threats, harassment, hate speech, or content that singles out a person to embarrass or intimidate them.
- Sexual content involving minors, of any kind. We report it.
- Someone else's private information, such as their phone number or home address, posted where others can see it.
- Malware, or links meant to trick people into giving up passwords or money.
- Gig pages that misdescribe the Gig, the venue, the price or who is running it.
Conduct
- Don't sign people up, or add them to a Gig, without their permission.
- Don't pretend to be someone else, or to be runmygig.
- Don't try to see, change or delete data or Gigs that aren't yours, or share private links you were not meant to have.
- Don't probe, scan, overload or attack runmygig, get around its limits, or scrape it with automated tools.
- Don't use runmygig to run something other than a real Gig, such as a list-building or marketing campaign.
Messaging rules
runmygig sends texts, emails and notifications on behalf of producers, and our text message provider holds us to strict rules. Producers agree to these:
- Texts go only to people who opted in to texts for that Gig, by ticking the box when they signed up or by replying YES when runmygig asked them. runmygig enforces this: a number that has not agreed gets no Gig alerts by text.
- No bought, rented, scraped or shared lists. Only add people who gave you their number for your Gig, or who would expect to hear from you about it.
- No marketing. People opt in for Gig alerts, such as their slot, time changes and when they are up next. Don't use those messages to sell, promote other events or businesses, or ask for donations.
- Quiet hours: don't send messages between 9 PM and 8 AM in the recipient's local time. The one exception is live alerts to people at a Gig that is running, such as "you're on deck" or a change to tonight's lineup.
- Every person can reply STOP. A STOP ends texts to that number for every Gig, and you must not try to reach that person by text another way through runmygig.
- Keep messages honest and about the Gig. Don't use urgent or misleading wording to get someone to act.
Information you may not collect
Don't use runmygig, in a sign-up question, a note, a message or an upload, to collect:
- Social Security numbers or other government ID numbers, such as driver's license or passport numbers.
- Payment card numbers, bank account numbers or other financial account details.
- Passwords or other login details.
- Health information, such as medical conditions, medications or disability details.
- Information about a child under 13.
If you need any of this, collect it somewhere built for it.
If someone breaks this policy
We may, depending on how serious it is and whether it keeps happening:
- ask the producer to fix it;
- remove content, or turn off a Gig page, a sign-up form or messaging for a Gig;
- suspend or close the account, right away when we need to protect people or keep our text message provider's rules;
- report illegal content or activity to the authorities.
Where we reasonably can, we tell you what happened and why. Your data export stays available as described in the Terms of Service.
Report a problem
To report a Gig, a message or content that breaks this policy, email info@runmygig.com with a link to the Gig and what happened.
